After this KARAZY heat wave it feels good to talk about something “icy”!!! Today’s Designer Crafts Blog Connection is all about “Celebrations”. One of the things that has been repeated over and over at events I have attended the last month has been to remember to “celebrate” yourself. As a busy moms, taxi drivers, caterers, cooks, and crafters we all forget to take a little time for ourselves. It doesnt mean we have to be selfish. But we do have to celebrate our lives, our accomplishments, and our friendships by spending a little “me” time every now and again. That’s how we recharge and can then continue celebrating all of the other people in our lives.
A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of taking an “Iced Enamels” class from Jen Cushman, of Ice Resin, at the Charity Wings Art Center in San Marcos, CA. The class was so much fun and we each created a custom bracelet using Ice Resin®, Iced Enamels®, and Spellbinders® Susan Lenart Kazmer™ Media Mixáge™ Metal Blanks.
It was so much fun to play with all of the materials and Jen Cushman really let us go to town mixing colors and trying things out. We also could layer our blanks or make multiple pieces if we wanted. The Iced Enamels® were really fun to play with — we could layer them and layer again and get all kinds of different effects.
The day was full of energy and sharing, and lots of creative fun. I came home totally refreshed and ready to create! Here are some of the images from the day…
