Since my daughter and the entire world is gaga over the movie Frozen, I decided to make a replica of Elsa's crown from the movie. Our Girl Scout troop is planning to throw a Frozen themed party and crafting day for some of the younger troops and we've been tossing around ideas for crafts from the movie for months. What little girl doesn't want to wear a crown? But Elsa's crown is metal and that just isn't pratical for us to try to make with 6-10 year old girls. Enter in Rowlux!

Even though Elsa's crown is gold I went with pale blues for the colors. A gold crown could be made using other colors from the many colors and patterns of RowluxIllusion Film sheets that Rowlux offers. Kids of all ages can make this project – simply use scissors instead of a craft knife for younger children. This project can be used for a kids' birthday party too – make these with the kids or have them ready made for the girls to wear as they enter the party. Rowlux can be heated and then molded, almost like metal, so that is how I turned these flat Illusion Film sheets into a curved crown.

I searched online for images of Elsa's crown and I found a great printable crown from this blog – the blogger has created an entire handmade Elsa costume with a tutorial! Check it out because it is pretty cool! Thank goodness there are so many great Frozen resources online so I didn't have to try to draw a crown I've only seen once! LOL

You'll need to download and print that template before you get started. Then gather these supplies:

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.
