This year has been rough.

And with a rough year comes alot of soul searching and hard decisions that I don't want to make. At some point, having a huge part of my house dedicated to “etsy central” and a shipping center and boxes and over 500 items in an online shop is just too much (I really think I can do it all….darn it!).  And it doesn't fit in my life anymore. I want it to fit. But it doesn't. I am a complicated person trying to make my life simpler. At some point I have to let things go. I actually have tears in my eyes as I type this! This is not easy.

I like having a shop. I like finding cool things and selling them at a great price to other creatives. I love seeing what other people make with their goodies from my shop – be it a fabulous baby shower centerpiece or ornaments for all of their friends or a wedding album for their cousin… I like making a little money here and there from fun things I enjoy and that I hope other people enjoy as well. But it just doesn't fit in the puzzle of my life right now. Healthwise, familywise, and otherwise, it just doesn't fit as much as I want it to, no matter how much I am fighting it, I can't make it fit. The time has come for me to announce:

This etsy shop has been such a rewarding and fun adventure. But its season has passed for me — we had the shop for almost 7 years, since 2007! I cannot believe it has been that long. It has been so much fun and so rewarding to see all of the goodies coming through the shop and going out to creative happy people all over the globe. I think that has been the most fun!! This isn't to say that in the future I won't reopen. I just can't do it right now.  And I want to tell myself and you that I will bring back handmade goodies at some point, I want to be hopeful about it, but there are no commitments. Get the goodies while you can!

  • We are closing the Hydrangea Hippo etsy shop effective December 10, 2013.
  • Everything that we do not sell will be donated to charity on December 12th.
  • All orders will be shipped by December 15th.
  • We will not be accepting any custom orders at this time.
  • If you are local to Hesperia CA (or willing to drive), I will open “etsy central” to you to shop.
