Starting New

Every January is a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year, making goals, and thinking of ways to do something new, better, or over.
Ali Edwards does a project every year called One Little Word where people choose one word to live by each year. The cynic in me says “bah humbug” at this kind of thing but this year I really think I have found a word that applies:
Better.
I want to live better, scrap better, have better memories, spend better quality time with my family. I want to be a better person, worship God better, eat better, feel better, and sleep better. I want to look better, use my time better, and blog better. I want to use money better, keep my word better, and treat others better.
So that's it: Better.
One way I am going to help myself accomplish goal is through two new blogs. One is “Our Life, Better” where I chronicle our journey to make our life better. We want to organize our home, eat better, lose weight, and spend more quality time together. On this blog I plan to share our successes, failures, and ideas.
The second blog is “Layout-A-Day”. Last year I set a goal to once again scrap 365 pages. I did 273. That's alot closer than I have been the last couple years but thinking back, I don't need 365 pages. I have stacks of layouts that aren't even in albums so what would I do with almost 400 more pages?! I figure if I can just scrap regularly, once a week, that's enough. This blog will hold me accountable because I HAVE to post something and hopefully will provide some ideas and inspiration for anyone who wants to read. I hope you all will go over there and read every once in a while :) You can get to both blogs by clicking to view my profile.
Now I've got to run to start working on things for the new year.
Happy Days!

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.

  1. I love your idea of a blog for your One little word!!! and I love the word!! I think I may copy your idea for the blog, what a great way to document the process… I am commiting also to one layout a week, and one layout a month for my One little word which is FOCUS.
