WOOT WOOT!! Welcome to the StencilGirl blog hop to welcome NEW StencilGirl Artist Traci Bautista! I am over the moon excited for Traci's stencils! I have long admired her work and our paths have crossed several times over the years. She is a gorgeous artist and person, inside and out, and I am so excited that now you can get her stencils to put a ltitle mixed media magic on your own art journals, canvases, and more. You know how I am getting my scrapbook action back on lately, so I thought, let's get all “mixed media” with this stencil and make some MAGIC happen! What I love about the Floral 2 stencil that I received from Traci's collection is that it has a bold, almost Latin feeling design, that I used to achieve a glow effect on this scrapbook page:

Xaver and I had a crazy crazy crazy night out in Las Vegas and I wanted the stencil pattern to stand out in black against the page. I imagined silhouettes of signs on the Las Vegas strip casting shadows in front of the lights shimmering behind them. To create this look, I started with black cardstock and used paint, ink, and pens to create the “lights” shimmering behind the stencil.

What would you create with any of Traci's new StencilGirl Stencils?

Author: Jennifer Priest

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.
