I took advantage of a couple of deals Snapfish offered a couple weeks ago — 100 4×6 Prints for $12.99 and 75 4×6 Prints for $9.99. I used each code twice and this week my mailbox is overflowing with photos!!

I also have been shopping some since everyone has the new CHA goodies in and then some. I got some great Prima cardstock at Michael's — it is two tone — has a sheet of color and then a sheet of the same color in shimmer. I totally love it! It is like having two coordinating papers when they are just cardstock. I used my 50% off coupon on that.

Besides the cardstock, Michael's also has these really cute Prima butterflies and birds. A layout by Donna Salazar featuring the birds graces the cover of the Michael's idea sheet–pretty cool! I also received in the mail the stencils I ordered from Stencil1:

I saw them in a Scrapbooks Etc issue and HAD to have them. Lo and behold I saw them again at Blick Art Supplies in Pasadena today so now I know where to get them without paying shipping. They are really nice quality!

I used the stencils to ink a bird background onto the Prima cardstock. I was really inspired by the inking techniques we did at the Quickutz Club at Collective Journey so that got me inking with these new stencils.

Then I added photos and the birds. I've always loved the look of birds carrying banners in their beaks so I finally did that on this page! I cut the banner pennants from more of the Prima shimmer cardstock and then stitched them together with some string from Martha Stewart.

I cut the borders near the photos from Prima packaging–it is totally different colors from the packaging that the LSS gets. Vicki (Zutter DT member and fellow PrimaDonna) did this on a layout she posted last week and that reminded me to do it as well.

ALSO, this page is for this month's challenge at ScrapJacked!

On this next page I used more of the Prima cardstock and paper pieced a rocket from it. I used MM alphas I got on clearance from M's for the title, some buttons from my stash, and a piece of Heidi Swapp tape I have been trying to use up for 4+ years. Gotta use the stash to make room for new goodies, right?

I handcut some flames for the bottom of the rocket but then I stitched some more to fill in the blanks. I love the way this one turned out! The rocket has nothing to do with Matt being a “shutterbug” — it is just inspired from the pattern on his pajamas in the photo.

And finally I made this page this evening with some goodies I picked up at The Scrappin' Table this afternoon. Anyways, here is my layout:

I had a lot of errands to run today so the family joined me and we drove all over So Cal. We met up with my friend PJ and her kids for lunch at McDonald's (and to deliver her Girl Scout cookie order – I am sooo behind on that!).

It is really challenging trying to stay on Weight Watchers when we are never home but we managed: the Bacon Ranch chicken salad is only 5 points and it was mighty yummy! It was also fun to spend some time with PJ since I missed her at QK Club the night before. Now I am off to do some more cleaning in my scrap room and work on some more class and DT samples.

Happy Creating!!

  1. I hope you bought those things at Michaels BEFORE your horrible incident. Really cute ideas. Love those birds! I love using packaging on my pages, oh, to heck with archival, I can print more pics if I need to! Remember the days when people woulds scrapbook with gloves on so they wouldn’t transfer acid to their pages? LOL
