Okay I spent all day yesterday loading my pics into flickr with comments and sorting them by manufacturer. So I have a LOAD of slideshows for you today!!! Just click on the photos in the slideshow and my comments will show up.
Trends I spotted (I only walked around a little tho):
- Printed, diecut chipboard. Pink Paislee had these, Prima had printed chip alphas like this, Tattered Angels had new embossed glimmer chips…they were just all over
- Sheer or clears diecut shapes. Prima,
Maya Road, Little Yellow Bicycle all had them.
- Animals – Sassafras, My Little Shoebox, Prima, Little Yellow Bicycle….everyone seemed to have a line with little animals.
- Lots and lots of flowers everywhere! Everyone seems to be coming out with some kind of flowers now.
- Recycled – Jillibean Soup, Colorbok, DCWV…
- Diecut papers – EVERY company seemed to have a paper with a diecut edge
- Kid friendly themed papers like robots, dinosaurs, bears, and owls. Even PRIMA had a kid-friendly line.
ZUTTER
I LOVE all the new Cover-Alls and the Perfect Closures. During the show I took a couple of the leather straps for the Perfect Closures to the Rit Dye booth and had some fun dying them different colors – they turned out great! There are just so many creative possibilities for using and decorating our Perfect Closures.
Our make n take for the show was designed by our very own Nan Paturzo featuring Teresa Collins papers in a 3×4 Cover-All book and closed with our Perfect Closures. I helped make-n-takers set the rivets to attach the Perfect Closures to the Cover-All and to attach a flower to the front of the book. Here is what the sample looked like:
Several men came through the make n take line and one really stood at out to me. He wanted to layer multiple flowers and attach them with the rivet. Most people were layering two or three flowers but that was not enough for him. He wouldn't let me take his picture (hehehe) but he let me take a pic of his book:
Can you believe the rivets held that many flowers!! That is just so cool!! I am totally inspired to diecut some felt flowers and try them out with the rivets – I bet they will hold those flowers down like magic! And the reason I am saying felt flowers is because I love them but they are such a pain to adhere to anything – glue dots don't stick well and wet glue takes forever to dry. I'm thinking I'll attach the flower with a rivet an then glue a button on top of the rivet or something like that. Possibilities!
Three new things at the show were the Spinner Album Kit, Display-It-All, and the Bind It All Around the World Idea book.
The Spinner Album Kit was designed by Vicki Flinchum, a member of our Design Team and the winner of the Idea Book contest. It is an awesome alternative to the 7Gypsies ATC Carousels as it retails for $24.99 and includes the tabs, pages, base, and binding wires. I love that the base is wood because that can be decorated too!!

The Display It All is a black metal stand that any album can be attached to in order to display it vertically. I have visions of calendars, vertical recipe books, family member flip albums…there are so many possiblities as far as what can be displayed on the Display-It-All. And I definitely am thinking of picking up some spray paint and rub-ons to have some fun altering the base of the stand.

And finally, the Idea Book!! I of course am excited because I have FOUR projects in the book but there are so many different designers with such amazing talent in the book that you will certainly love it too. The inner pages flip out in sections to reveal even more details about each binding project that is featured. Each artist included special notes about their projects and how they created them so that anyone can take those ideas to fashion their own projects. The best part is the book is bound with the Bind-It-All AND it is housed in a Cover-All. It's like a getting a free sample project with your book!

MAYA ROAD
I totally love the new pom-pom ribbons and the ricrac made from ribbon as well. Their layered acrylic book where all the pages have different edges is calling my name. And their new diecut lace papers or screens — some kind of swirly things – I want them. I don't know what they do (no time to ask questions) but I want them!
JILLIBEAN SOUP
This is a new company that was the talk of the show. They use recycled paper and alot of it is kraft in color. I got some samples I am totally dying to work with! I expect to see this in alot of local stores this year for sure. I also love their little diecut journal spots — very “etsy” in feel.
PRIMA
Get ready to see a ridiculous number of photos! LOL Prima's booth was beyond gorgeous and the new releases have something for everyone. I like cutesy stuff and two of the new lines will be making major appearances in my classes for sure. I also LOVE the new diecut felt (adhesive backed!), flocked and glittered acetate, galaxy stars, new flowers, and the Donna Downey canvas book. That book ROCKS! Without further ado…
SASSAFRASS LASS
I want it all! Love the new layered flowers that we can buy, the journal spots, the paper…their displays were out of this world too. Their displays were made of felt depicting the paper lines—I wish I had gotten more pics of their booth but I kept forgetting to go by again. I'll just take one of everything please!
QUICKUTZ
• Silhouette – combines best features of the Slice (SD card and portable) with the Cricut (No computer necessary, controls on machine, mat with grid) and then it still does everything a Silhouette can. The new software also shows the grid mat right on the screen so you know EXACTLY where your item will cut when you put your paper on the mat. Also, the new software will be a free download available to EVERYONE, even those of us with the old Silhouette. It is awesome.
• New 4×8 Alphabets. I love Banana Split and Disco.
• Silhouette blades—can get the blade only now for just $10 retail! Wooohoo!
PINK PAISLEE
• Winsome collection
• Love the new alpha stickers shape—like the Cosmopolitan font for the Quikutz.
• Fabric/Ribbon strip flowers – kind of fun
• Chipboard shapes were pretty cool
NUNN DESIGN
• They had these cool jewelry blanks to make your own jewelry. I am thinking charms!!
CLIP IT UP
• They had several new versions of the Clip It Up — one top tier that is tall enough to take those long stickers, one version that holds 12×12 papers, and another one that is a stand alone version of the old top tier. They also had some swing out arms for the wall and an under the shelf unit—I just may get one of that last one/
• Their booth was all vintage recycled stuff. Probably my fave as far as the “green” theme of the show
KAISER CRAFT
Their booth was really fun with giant replicas of their wood books. Love that! There was some mayhem when they were just throwing out packs of the rhinestones to the crowd. They had some new rhinestone flourishes.
HANNA STAMPS had some cute girly stamps and their “Riley” moose stamp with the topic of a lot of conversations at the show.
PEBBLES
I love the new “chips”, chipboard diecuts packaged like potato chips, very cute. I liked their papers a lot too but the designs and color combos were very similar to American Crafts. I do like the little stencil packs they had for chalking and the ribbon spools.
MAGENTA
I love the stamps they have and the felt diecut borders were cool but they aren't self adhesive. I do love their chip shapes too:
LITTLE YELLOW BICYCLE
Lots of kid friendly colors and designs. The baby lines are super cute. There is alot of “Sharon Ann” style handwriting thrown in too. I still like it though! They had some felt sticker animals and some journal spots shaped like animals I would not mind having:
FANCY PANTS
Can I just say I Love it? Cindy Tobey's make n take was so cute–I didn't see her or get a chance to make it but it sure made me want that stamp set in a bad bad way:
DOODLEBUG
Yummy! They had such cute displays and I want it all. The chunky glitter I am not too sure about but we'll see. I'll buy it if I see it in a store! LOL

LOVE the new stamps, the wood grain, the trees! And I got to meet Jennifer McGuire.

They had this really interesting screen printing machine, retail $300, that Elena wants for SBR. The new Cricut cartridges for Hannah Montana and Spongebob are making me want a Cricut. I've got kids, what can I say?!

Tattered Angles had a limited edition Green Tea color just for CHA.
New Fiskars border punches rock–apron lace is my fave.
Oct Afternoon was NOT there…something about their shipment not arriving.
LOTS of great new accu-cut dies.
Digital Scrapbook Artist software that retails for $50 gives Photoshop Elements a run for its money.
ScrapBlog bad a huge booth but I did not have time to visit.
Ruby Rock (I think that is name) has a cool picket fence shaped album.
Teresa Collins' booth was hopping — she had the coolest make n take, over $20 value, for free. It was a 6×12 album. I did not put mine together yet but I will post a pic when I do.
Webster's Pages was super nice and some really cute stuff.
I like some of the new Anna Griffin, the pink and black and a little of the Riley collection.
Canvas Corp had some really cool stuff. They were also super super nice every time I saw them. Cute products too.
Then there were some parties and dinners!
FISKATEER MOCKTAIL PARTY
Fiskateers bobbed from hotel room to hotel room making make n takes and having a disco good time!
PRIMADONNA DINNER
Hanging out with all the other PrimaDonna's from around the world was a blast. I left there totally inspired and ready to create!
