4th of July is one of the holidays where us crafters can get really crazy with the glitter, the shine, the spray inks, the sparkles! After Christmas, it is probably one of my fave holidays. I just love the red, white, and blue!

I created this mini for either 4th of July or it can be for military photos. I have held onto this Bo Bunny Press paper for some time–I love the vintage feel of it along side the bright colors–totally my cup of tea! I recently receive some goodies from Connie Crystal, including some gorgeous faceted beads in blue and red, and some iridescent beads as well. I knew these would be the perfect “sparkle” to add to this book!! Let's face it, if I gave this to a man, he would NOT want glitter falling everywhere!

I painted a Cover-All from Zutter with blue acrylic paint and a fairly dry foam brush–this goes along with that vintage feel the paper has but also pops with color! I punched holes in the top and bottom of the spine of the cover and added jump rings.

Then I put eye pins through two beads , making an eye at the other end to close off the dangle. I then attached jump rings to the ends of the dangle and tied ribbon from the jump rings on the dangles to the jump rings on the cover.

Next I made some “fireworks” using dictionary paper and fringe scissors. I sprayed the centers of the “fireworks” with Smooch Spritz in Navy Twinkle and Holly Berry and then I threaded two beads onto a head pin. I stuck the open end of the head pin into the firework and folded it over. I hot glued these to my book cover – easy peasy!

This book cover came together really easily! The Connie Crystal beads were the perfect bit of bling to add a little sparkle but keep the book masculine and “grown-up”.
