My not-so-little hometown scrapbook store, Scrapbook Boulevard, is featured this month on the tattered Angels Website!!! How cool is that? I go into this store at least a couple of times a week to buy stuff I need for classes, to shop, and to chit chat. Love it!!

This calendar was recently featured on the Zutter Zisters Gallery as an example of another way to use that ever-so-handy Bind-It-All.
I also met Cheryl McAdam at this store, as well as many other scrappy friends. If you ever want to know ANYTHING about Glimmer Mist this woman can learn ya! She has done some really amazing techniques with it, things I never would have thought of myself. And she is on the Tattered Angels Design Team! She will be teaching classes at scrapbooking stores around Southern California starting this month. I believe she is going to be at Pages of Tyme, A to Z Scrapbooking, and a few other stores in the coming months to spread the word about Glimmer Mist. After many requests to teach the “Be Jolly” class I designed for Pink Pineapple up here in the Inland Empire, I decided to re-design a new version to teach at Collective Journey. I also added a banner because I have been dying to do a Christmas banner. This time I wanted to keep it simple so it is pretty simple but classic. And I even used Glimmer Mist on it to give it a sheen. I am really into “S-H-I-N-Y” right now! LOL
So I have been going back and forth with Xaver about this Indie Art Festival – the Patchwork Show – I read about on the Mahar Drygoods blog. I stumbled upon their blog while blog hopping a couple days back and just loved the fun goodies they offered. The idea of seeing TONS of these goodies all in one spot was just too much to resist so we had to go. I guess the owner teaches classes at Sweetpeas and Snapshots' new location. (Gotta go check all this out one day…)
Anyways, we decided last minute to go check it out since I realized my class at Now & Then wasn't until 3pm, not 11am like I initially thought. Yay for Sunday morning drives!! I am trying to make more memories with family here — hehe. I need stuff to scrap! LOL
So we get on the road and I realize I am becoming increasingly grumpy when I drive and am in traffic. Well, there is always something divine at work, even when I am in traffic and it is easy to forget that.
Just as I was ripping around the corner of the offramp to Main from the 5 Freeway in Santa Ana I skidded to a stop. The car in front of me had suddenly stopped so I HAD to stop. Why? A man was laying on the ground. The person in front of me sped off. Uggh! At least he didn't CAUSE the addicent but still, can't take 5 mins out of your day to help someone, huh?
Xaver immediately jumped out of the car to help the guy. From the way his legs looked, he was in bad shape.
I backed the car up and put the hazards on to help slow traffic on this blind off ramp so no one would run the guy or Xaver over. We called 9-1-1 and luckily another couple stopped to help too. They saw a police car that happened to be driving by and with their waving and my honking the car horn we were able to stop the Police car. Luckily the fire dept and ambulance were there within 10 mins of the accident–it literally happened right in front of us since I had seen the guy riding his motorcycle in the carpool lane about 20 car lengths ahead of us. He is really lucky we stopped. He could have been run over. I am also surprised so few people stopped to help.
It was obvious this guy was in bad shape and in a very very dangerous place where he could have been killed if we didn't stop and block traffic. His helmet was on one side of the road, he was in the middle with his leg bent the wrong way and his motorcycle was another good 20 feet away. I am glad we stopped to help. You just know God puts you there when someone needs you and I am so glad that we were able to help. Xaver talked to the guy and tried to keep his mind off the pain while a lady who stopped put pressure on a gaping wound in the man's side.
After we were sure the guy was safe and the police, fire dept, and ambulance had all arrived, we went on our way. And prayed for the man.

This little Indie Arts and Crafts Fair was very indie! LOL It was fun to go see all the handmade and recycled goods. I spent a pretty penny and it was nice to support some local artists. The first place we stopped was Mahar Drygoods. I just had to let the guy know I found his blog and then that Indide Fair from his blog and here I was. I bought some fun stamps and and some super cute vintage feeling buttons that will be making an appearance in one my classes soon!
I got a fun windchime for my mom. Katie got a crazy cool purse–only $20!! This guy had some awesome stuff in his shop: Cinnamon Roll Gang.

After a 45 minutes dash through all the shops we jumped back on the freeway to head to Now & Then in Wildomar for my class. I met some really nice ladies and re-met some others. It was pretty fun! Hopefully we'll be able to get something on the calendar again soon!
So that is it. Now off to enjoy some quiet time watching the TV, something I rarely do. See you soon!

Bless your heart Jennifer! I am so glad there are people in this world like you. My worst fear is coming upon a scene like that and needing to be the one to take action. I know I would stop and help, but ooooh, I hope it just never happens to me. Do you think your military training helped in this matter? Anyways, I am so glad you were there to help the man.
