Today we're hopping and talking about vacations!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is just difficult, down right impossible, to find the perfect embellishment for a vacation destination. I recently took a road trip to Texas with my kids and we stopped at this place called “Health Camp” for burgers and fries. Only in Texas, right?! So of course I had to scrap the event but I have NO Texas themed anything in my scrap room and I am not about to buy dies and stamps and what not for one little trip. I did the next best thing–I did a google image search for maps of the town Health Camp was in (Waco, TX) and found tons of images! I saved them to my harddrive and then printed them out in index size using my printer. I then used the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio and Bubble Caps to make custom embellies, specifically for MY trip, to use on my page. Easy peasy and much more affordable than buying up a bunch of Texas themed stickers. And, the “Texas” touches are subtle, making my design mostly about the Health Camp.

I had the most fun with this project. When you receive a pack of practically white paper in the mail (or in your shopping bag) it can be a little daunting.I'll admit, I stared at the papers for a while after I ripped into the package. So many possibilities!! I shared a tutorial for how I created the background for this layout on the Tombow blog  — check it out HERE.
