Curious

I recently found a discussion on google about Scrapbook Expo Costa Mesa, CA being scheduled the same weekend as the CHA Consumer Show in Anaheim, CA, this January. Everyone has a different viewpoint whether they are a retailer, wholesaler, etc. Scrapbook Royalty is actually helping run the World's Largest Crop Attempt at the Consumer Show so that has gotten me thinking about this issue. As you may know, Scrapbook Expo in Costa Mesa is usually the weekend of Valentine's Day. And CHA has never done a Consumer Show here in California, only in Florida this past summer.

As a scrapbooker and papercrafter, I want to know what you think:

If given a choice between the two shows, which one would you go to? Or would you go to both?

Please leave a comment below letting me know which show you would go to:

  • Scrapbook Expo – Costa Mesa, CA
  • CHA SuperShow – Anaheim, CA
  • BOTH Scrapbook Expo and the CHA Super Show
  • Neither

Please feel free to share why you made the choice you did. I am curious about your opinion and what you'd do because they are on the same weekend at this point and both are in January instead of February. I am not tyring to debate anything, just wondering what you all would do as scrapbookers, not as industry people.

And if you leave a comment, I'll choose one name to win a RAK from me — just a little envelope filled with goodies from my stash. Thanks!! I am interested to see what you choose and why!!

Happy Scrapping!

  1. I want to try to go to both. I really enjoyed the Ontario Expo, that was my first ever. But it really depends on what the cost is. I would love to see new products coming out. So I’m voting for going to both!

  2. I go to the San Diego Expo each time it is here but have yet to go to CHA. I would LOVE to go to the CHA this year. That’s my vote.

  6. I don’t understand the concept of the consumer show. Does that mean, regular smo-joe like me can go to CHA? Last year I was able to attend CHAW because I was helping in a booth. I would like to try and attend both…but if I can’t go to CHA due to the fact that I am not a member, then I am all for Expo.

  7. The Consumer show is NOT the CHA you are all thinking about–it will be like a scrapbook expo with some manufacturers there doing make n takes but they won’t have new product out becuase they don’t release that until the show which is the following week. SO you are not going to be going to “CHA” really.

  8. Great question Jennifer, I would vote for going to both. I am curious about the Supershow, but always enjoy the expo.

  9. I would vote for the CHA Supershow. While I enjoy the Scrapbook Expo in Costa Mesa, I would think the CHA Supershow would be better because winter CHA is so much bigger than summer CHA. And they had 5,000 attend the first Supershow in July. Plus, I can always attend the San Diego Expo in May (although I think Costa Mesa Expo is twice as big as San Diego).

  10. I’d go to both since I am meeting a friend from Malaysia at the CHA consumer show and then I’d want to buy some goodies!

  11. I would try to go to both–one day at the Expo and one day at the Supershow. I go to the Expo every year and was planning on going to the Supershow. I didn’t realize they were on the same weekend but I think I’ll try to go to both.

  13. I did a little research and as of right now, Expo is scheduled for Jan. 15-17, 2010 and CHA Craft Supershow for Jan 22-23, 2010. So now I don’t have to choose and can go to both! LOL
