Fall is here and I cannot wait for things to cool off. A week or so ago I shared some chili pepper earrings – hot for summer! Today, I have some blue glass glitter earrings, again, made with ICE Resin. Both earrings use the same basic techniques – fill the bezel with something (glass glitter, chili pepper flake) and then seal it with ICE Resin.
Fill two matching bezels with the glass glitter as desired. Mix a batch of ICE Resin, according to the manufacturer directions, and gently pour the ICE Resin over the glass glitter until the bezel is full. To get the domed look, pour a very small amount of additional resin carefully into the bezel, avoiding over-pouring. If the ICE Resin drips over the edge of the bezel, wipe it away with a clean, damp cloth and repour the ICE Resin until the bezel is filled. Allow these to cure for 24 hours before handling.
After the bezels cure, use eye hooks to string one iridescent bead. Attach these to the bezels with jump rings. Add a fishhook style ear wire to the other end of the bead strip. Wear and be “cool”!
