I've been working on some pages and projects for Color Me Miki, the kit club I am guest designing fr this month! All this spooky stuff and deep colors are making me get in the mood for fall. I need to dig my sweaters out of my closet! Here are a few things I've created with the Color Me Miki October 2009 kit:

“Love At First Carve”
I used a cool piece of mesh that came in the Color Me Miki kit to create this background on a piece of plain purple Cardstock. Lay the mesh on the page and paint over it with black paint and a foam brush. Move the mesh and repeat the painting process until the entire page is covered with dots. I saved the mesh to use on future projects since the paint wipes right off. It's kind of like the effect of stamping with bubblewrap but a little easier to do.

“It's A Family Affaire”
The stickers that came in the kit were grey (tiny alphas) and lime green (glitter My Little Shoebox Alphas). That color scheme did not match all my pages so I pulled out my Copics to do a little altering. I colored the grey letters ornage and the lime green letters black. They even still sparkled thorugh the ink! After the ink dried, maybe a couple minutes later, I added the letters to my pages.

“Handy Helpers”
I love cutting journal spots in half to use in two places on the page. It helps draw your eye across the page and you can get more mileage out of your journal spots.

“Candy Holders”
I used all the scraps and a couple of pieces of paper to create 6 candy holders! I plan to give out these little yummies at my Halloween classes this month. No two holders are alike adn that is okay — the color scheme makes it all work together. Want to know how to make these? We'll create 4 of them in my Bind It All BOOT CAMP class at Ever After on October 29th. They don't just have to be Halloween themed either ;)

Here's what it looks like on the table I keep by my front door. Imagine how fun this would be to have a little basket at your door to greet your party guests!!

Just FYI I got 5 layouts and 6 candy holders out of that one kit and I STILL have stuff leftover–talk about a lot of goodies!! Hurry on over to the Color Me Miki website to get yours now before they sell out ;)

Happy Scrapping!
