Hello There

Hi everyone, Heather here and I am so thrilled to be posting my first projects for Hydrangea Hippo today. My designs all feature the beautiful Everyday Eclectic kit. It's full of wonderfully unique embellishments and lovely patterned papers. My first project is a card that uses the book paper that came in the kit.

The card came together quickly. I used mist to dye the rose a glimmering coffee color and I glued feathers behind it for a more glamorous feel. I added some stitching to finish it off. Here's a closer look at the details.

Next, I designed a layout that centered around the gold doily. I really wanted to feature it prominently on my page. The gold sequined seashells made me think of scrapping about the beach so I pulled photos of our latest vacation. The only thing I really wanted on our vacation was a decent family photo. It's pretty funny, but I'm the only one that's smiling in the photo and the title reflects that.

A closer view of the gold doily that I loved so much. Check out the sweet flowers too. I told you there were some really unique embellishments in this crafting kit!

I made a recipe box for my last assignment. I've had a small wooden recipe box hanging around my scrappy space forever. It's been taunting me and daring me to alter it! I used some ink to distress the papers so I could make the box a little shabbier. The recipe cards were all made with scraps that were leftover from my 6×6 paper pad.

The top of the box features another rose that I sprayed with the glittery brown mist. I also created my own flower by winding the fabulously unique loopy green trim around a shiny teal pearl.
