In Limbo

I cannot believe we are STILL not in our new house. We aren't in the old one either. We have no home, no address…it is just craziness. All of my stuff is in storage and I am going through serious scrap withdrawals! You know what they say, the most stressful things in life are having kids, getting married, and buying a home. The first two (getting married and having kids) are a walk in the park compared to buying a house. Basically we are waiting on some asset manager in some bank (the seller is a bank) to sign the final paperwork. Then we can close escrow. What a radical process this is??!! I don't think I ever want to do it again! Marriage and having more kids I can handle…home buying is a whole ‘nother animal!

From everyone I have talked to something has always gone wrong, escrow doesn't close on time, things get broken, sales fall through, they have to relist their house to sell several times, they end up having 3 mortgages at once…it's nice to know I am not alone as far as having problems and not closing when escrow is supposed to but at the same time, I am apprehensive about what will go wrong next. I'm still holding out hope that we will be in the house soon. At least we do have a place to stay, with family, while we wait it out so we aren't racking up a huge hotel bill or anything.

At any rate, that's why I have not been blogging. I got a Blackberry to help with accessing my emails but it just isn't the same as a good old desktop when it comes to blogging, you know? I hope to back up to blogging again soon. I'm playing around with some stuff today and hopefully I'll have some good things to post pretty soon!

Classes are all still on as scheduled too. Nothing can stop me from scrapping for very long! LOL I'll be teaching at Desert Scrappers Retreats on May 31. If you'd like to sign up, just drop me an email. They are really affordable classes too!

Chat with ya soon!

  1. I am s sorry to hear about your house troubles… I too hate moving and deal with house purchases. We still have our old house since escrow fell through almost 2 years ago. So consider yourself luck, not that helps right now. Just take lots of picture so you can scrap this event once you are settled. See you soon!
