M made Valentines

Matthew stamped his own Valentine's card this year–he just loves to get creative!

I created this layout by doing something different than just inking the edges of my paper. I ran the brush tip of a Kuretake Zig FabriColor Marker around the edges of all of the paper elements on my page. Then I doodled around the edges with a Wink of Stella marker, also by Kuretake Zig, to add a bit of shimmer and definition. The grey of the FabriColor marker looks like a shadow when paired with the Wink of Stella marker.

The Wink of Stella markers are my new fave–they write so well but they have a touch of sparkle in them – plus they journal beautifully! I also added doodles around the edges of my page, also tracing the outline of punched stars with the Wink of Stella marker.  I wanted the page to be pink but have a bit of a masculine edge since it was about my son, so the markers I used were grey and black. I used crepe paper and patterned paper to add touches of blue and brown to the page.

Supplies:
Paper, Stickers – Crate Paper
Paper (pink), Twill Border – Pink Paislee
Stamp – Stampin' Up!
Wink of Stella Pen – Kuretake Zig
FabriColor Pen – Zig Kuretake
Ribbon – May Arts
Twine – The Twinery
Crepe Paper, Buttons – hydrangeahippo.etsy.com
Metallic Paper – American Crafts
ColorBox Pigment Ink Antique Pewter – Clearsnap

Don't forget about your markers when you work on your next layout–they can be use for more than just journaling!

Happy Doodling,
Jennifer
