I can't believe I did not post for a few days–what can you do? LOL Guess I was busy. We've been working on trying to get unpacked. I feel like our house should be on one of those shows like “Clean House” because of the boxes and stuff everywhere. Okay, it isn't REALLY that bad but if we don't do something to mitigate the clutter and box buildup now, we WILL be on one of those shows! I don't want to find a box in the garage 30 years from and wonder what's inside — it could be scrap stuff and then I'd really be missing out!
My friend PJ just emailed me that Scrapbook Oasis is having a 40% of patterned paper sale today–oooh so tempting but with the budget crunch I am having, not a possibility today. For a while I wasn't feeling the gas prices but this month it really hit us. I can't believe how much we are spending on groceries, my oil change was $78 this week, and my car is taking almost twice as much to fill up ($80 versus $45 this time last year). I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is just because it is an election year–hurry up November!! Not to mention class attendance is down–if you gotta cut something, it's going to be the non-essentials. I'm hanging in there though–we'll be out from under this cloud soon enough! *** Side note — Xaver just called and he got paid overtime for 4th of July–woohoo! The Lord will provide…***
I also did up this little card yesterday for a challenge over at 2Sketches4You, another challenge/sketch blog. What can I say, I love these kinds of blogs! It' easier to create if I have an assignment, some parameters to work within.
I turned the sketch on its side and used a border strip I punched out and one from a Sassfras Lass paper. I am going to list some of these fun hand-punched borders in my Etsy store soon too-I've been working on a big pile of them! I also used some eyelets–always thinking of ways to use up my stash. I used scraps from my Sprockets & Posies class. I actually have extra kits for this class on sale at Collective Journey.
Off to go do some scrappy running around today. I'm putting the finishing touches on my Absolutely Glamorous class at the Scrapping Lounge and bringing the sample down there today. See you around!
