This month the designers of the Designer Crafts Connection were honored to work with Smoothfoam! To continue on in the Hop, just click the “Hop Forward” link in the badge above.

There are alot of myths about foam, like that you can't paint it, it falls apart, etc…, however Smoothfoam is extremely dense and has a VERY alterable surface. On the packaging, Smoothfoam directs crafters to “pin it”, among other treatments. Hmmm, pins?

You know I love a good stick pin so I was really intirgued. I didn't want to do some project that would be static — I wanted to be able to change it later, reuse the Smoothfoam if I wanted.

I created this snowman wall decoration using pins and Aleene's Tacky Dots as the adhesive (for the buttons). The ribbon, scarf, arms, and chenille stem nose are ALL pinned on.

I love this because now I can take apart the Christmas elements from this project when the holidays are over and pack them up but the foam is ready for a NEW project.

The super dense foam held the pins surprisingly well — better than corkboard!!! My next project is definitely going to be some kind of memo board–I am in love with Smoothfoam!!!

And, what's a hop without a giveaway??!! To enter to win, leave a comment on your favorite projects on each designer's blog and say what you would make with Smoothfoam   The more often you comment the more chances you have to win.  All the projects will be posted on Pinterest so you can comment there too.  The winner will be announced on our Facebook Page @ http://www.facebook.com/DesignerCraftsConnection?ref=hl  on November 19th.

Good Luck and Happy Hopping!
