Certainly I am having a difficult time keeping up with my Five Fridays posts. I think it might just have to do with sheer exhaustion! LOL I really feel like I need to sleep all day one day to catch up on rest. AT any rate, time just keeps passing faster and faster and now that I am “a day behind” I think I might just get rid of Five Fridays in favor of “Something on Saturday/Sundays”. hehe

So in honor of the first “Something on Sat/Sun” post here is a mini album I did for the Bind-It-All DT this month:

I love those cute little notebooks filled with journaling spots available from several companies nowadays like Fancy Pants and Making Memories. Most of them are spiral or wire bound so I got to thinking … “I could make my own”!

I cut some scrap cardstock in white, cream, and kraft colors to 3.5” x 3”. Then I stamped journaling stamps on them, some going off the pages, some in the middle so I could cut the whole image out if I wanted to, and other covering the entire page so I could tear the page out to get the “notebook paper” look. I bound all of the pages together to make my own mini journaling spot notebook. I then added a perfect closure, colored with Jet Black Staz-On, to keep the book from flopping open while in my crop bag.

Now I can throw my custom journaling notebook in my tool bag when I go to crops, saving space I would have used to carry stamps or multiple purchased journaling spots. Since the spots I made are all neutral colors, I can just dab a little ink on the edges to color the journal spot to match any project. When I run out of journaling spots, I’ll remove the O-wires, add new spots, and then reattach the covers.

Supplies:

¾” Brown O-Wires, Pound It All, Perfect Closures – Zutter

Ink – Staz-On, Colorbox, Close to My Heart

Patterned Paper – October Afternoon,

Scenic Route

Stamps – Close to My Heart, Pink Paislee, October Afternoon, Creative Imaginations, Stampin’ Up!, Autumn Leaves

Stickers – Creative Imaginations, EK Success

Chipboard – Kelly Paper

Ribbon – May Arts, Stampin’ Up!, Darice, Offray, Making Memories, Polka Dot Whimsy

While X is away getting in some guy time at a SuperBowl party I will be here tidying up my scrap room and getting my scrap on! I did three layouts over the weekend so that is pretty good. Hopefully I'll get some pics and post them soon. ciao!
