Today's giveaway is all about my Etsy Shop. I started an etsy store in 2007 to sell off extra class kits, goodies and embellies, and just general scrappy things. It's been fun to dabble in selling things handmade, from aprons to headbands to mini books. Now I am even a member of the High Desert Street Team for Etsy!

So here's today's question:

What's the name of my Etsy Shop?

And today there is a bonus:

What's the story behind the hippo on my blog banner?

I'll draw two winners on blogoversary day! One who answers the name of the shop correctly and the other who answers both today's question and the bonus question correctly.

Wanna know what you can win?

  4. Your Etsy store is Hydrangea Hippo…I think the story you wrote about once had to do with the name of the Scrap stores having a color and an object in the title…and you were thinking about what you would name your own store, so I think that’s how you came up with the name HH. I have a good memory, thats how I can remember this =)

  7. Hi Jen, The name of your Etsy store is Hydrangea Hippo & heres the story behind the name…you and some girls from the fantasyland crop for kids were heading over to the pink pineapple in vista, & started talking about if you had a scrapbook store what you would name it & you said Hydrangea Hippo…because it had a ring to it & it started out as a joke but ended up naming your blog & etsy store it. You also went on to mention that you don’t even like hippos or the color purple. You also went on to stay how you made the hippo..I hope i win this one.

  8. Jennifer, I have been enjoying your blogoversary festivities:)

I copy and pasted the following from your original post…So being facetious, I said I’d name my store “Hydrangea Hippo”. hehe. It had a ring to it I guess and what started out as a joke has now become my blog and etsy shop name. Who’d have thunk it? I don’t even like hippos or purple!

I paper pieced the little hippo in my banner by making a couple of ovals and then two leaf shapes for the ears. The eyes are the smallest Kaiser Craft black rhinestones. The paper in the background is from Collage Press–love their papers! Here’s the hippo hiding in my ribbon:
