Hydrangea-hippo-12-days-of-minis-december-2013

Each day now through Christmas I will share a mini book – a mini scrapbook – with you that I have created! This book is meant to serve as inspiration and along the way, I will share tips, tricks, techniques, and tutorials as well as the story behind the book. My hope is that these projects inspire you! Whether you're creating a gift for someone special or looking for ideas to use in your December Daily album, this series of posts can serve as a resource for ideas for years to come.

This album features one paper collection – collection packs are an easy way to build a mini album because a graphic designer has already done some of the work for you – making sure the colors and patterns in the papers compliment one another. But just because you use a paper collection pack, doesn't mean you also have to buy prepackaged embellishments. For this album, I chose embellishments that were similar to the colors in the papers. You can go a few shades darker or lighter on the embellishments and they will still work. Check out this tip for using embellishments in mini albums:

This is definitely great stash buster too! Instead of using the exact color match, you can choose embellishments you already own to use with a project, even if they are a shade lighter or darker than the paper you've chosen to use.

Tomorrow, I'll be sharing our last mini album — woohoooo! I hope you've been inspired by these posts and bookmark them to use as a reference.

Thanks for stopping by!
