I “celebrated” World CardMaking Day a day late–today!

Collective Journey in Redlands, California graciously opened their Art Bar AND donated supplies for a free card “make two, take one” today during my class at their store. I designed two cards and customers could make two, taking one home and then leaving one for the Troops in our basket at the store. We got some new cards for the troops as a result!! Here are the two cards that were available to make:

Both cards feature Fiskars tools: Fiskars Stamp Press, Squeeze Punch, and Threading Water Border Punch. I used a combination of Basic Grey and Reminisce Papers along with a HUGE stack of cardstock donated by Collective Journey. I got inspired by a card I saw Daphne Fiero post on her blog yesterday so I did rousching with paper on one of the cards.

These cards are being donated to Scrapbook Royalty's Cards for Troops campaign. Scrapbook Royalty will be sending the blank holiday cards directly to US servicemen and women stationed overseas. These soldiers can then write home to their loved ones during the holidays using these handmade cards. If you want to send cards to us, please do!! Check out all the details on the Scrapbook Royalty Blog.

Thank you again to Collective Journey–they have been so generous to Scrapbook Royalty and supportive of the causes we support–we love ya!!
