A NEW Series!!

I started a series on my YouTube Channel called “Drity Little Crafty Secrets”. While I was at CHA, I interviewed some of my friends and fellow designers who confessed some their :dirty little crafty secrets” right on the show floor!

This week I am featuring Carla Schauer of Carla Schauer Designs in this video about how we make mistakes and second guess our designs all the time:

Be sure to check out Carla's products, like these Design Adhesives from Clearsnap:

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.

  1. i guess it is nice to know that designers have it a little rough, too. here’s hoping that your runs are a little smoother and the first one turns out to be IT! thank you for the video.

  2. Oh yes, I’m always moving things around, redoing parts, removing things. Makes me a slow crafter, but I love it when you get to that part where you know it’s done and you love it.

  3. I second guess myself a lot with color choices when working on a project. I have found that if I step away and do something else (like fold the laundry) and come back I can often get past it…or realize the colors are a bit off… if I’ve made a big mistake I’ll paint over it and start again…great thing about paint…or cut it out and use part of it if it’s another paper based project.
