One of the best classes at Spark, in my opinion, was Amy Tangerine's reverse applique class. Most of us made T-Shirts but some other people did onesies, tote bags, aprons…it was super cool. Amy shared her secrets in the class, secrets as to how we could make our own versions of her shirts, which retail start around $85 each.
It was an awesome class and pretty much everyone finished their project in class. I love when that happens!

It was so much fun and I can't wait to make some more and show Katie how to do it. I know this is not paper crafting. Way back when I started crafting I first learned cross stitch, sewing, embroidery, and a little crochet. Then I got into home decor items and dry floral arranging and jewelry. I used to sell at craft fairs when I was in Jr High! In my evolution as a crafter, paper crafting came out somewhere 10-12 years down the line, when I was 20. The new trend of mixing craft disciplines, really making all crafts a sort of “mixed media”, is for me personally seeing my own evolution as a crafter come full circle as I work jewelry, sewing, and other crafts into my work. I think it is all good!
I hope this inspires you to create something today. Amy did say you can do this technique with paper but why not try fabric? It's nice to sometimes stray outside the lines and try something new. You never know what might happen!
