Challenges are HOT

It is soooo hot outside the best thing to do is stay INSIDE and scrap! LOL After designing a couple of class samples I have been on a roll this week. I haven't submitted anything to mags for a bit or to challenges really for that matter so the other day I printed out all the sketches and wrote down all the assignments for some of the challenges I follow through my blog. I want to get back into the swing of things in a bad bad way. My fave concept is “Pile It On” so I am trying to do multiple challenges with each layout. Here's my take:

A Ghetto Pool is Still a Pool!:

Don't laugh! Yes, we cleaned the spa out and the kids are using it as a pool. It is surprisingly big.

Supplies:

Paper – Piggy Tales
Cardstock – Bazzill
Flowers – Prima (of course!)
Epoxy Stickers & Shapes – Creative Imaginations, Joann's
Journal Spot – Little Yellow Bicycle
Sequins – Hydrangea Hippo etsy shop
Pearls – Kaiser Craft
Alphas & Words – EK Success, Making Memories, American Crafts
Chipboard Octopus – K & Co.
Pen – EK Success
For these challenges:
Pile It On #9: Use at least 3 flowers
Twisted Sketches #8: Use a flower and this sketch:

Sweet:
Supplies:

Buttons, Craft Thread – Joann's
Paper – Basic Grey, American Crafts, Making Memories
Epoxy Shapes – Fiskars

For these challenges:

Glorious Pink Challenge: Use 1 Word, 2 Photos, 3 Paper Lines
One Little Word #57: Sweet
Mojo Holder Challenge #120: Sketch by Jennifer McGuire:

I've also got a page done using the new Teresa Collins sports line for a school page. I usually don't, in fact I have never, scrapped a specific event before I had the photos but when I got home from shopping at the Table yesterday I was really inspired to use this paper. I will take the photos for it tomorrow, when Katie meets her new teacher.

Katie has been stuck on trying to figure out who her teacher is going to be for 5th grade and just won't stop talking about it, has asked her little friends over the phone and in the neighborhood if they know who theirs is…then I got a phone call a couple days ago from the Principal about a “Meet the Teacher” night this week. And then a postcard came yesterday. So she just can't wait–she is conjecturing about who it is, who will be in the class, who she will sit with…ahhh just enjoy the last few days of summer already little girl!

Anyways, I am using that for some challenges — it's another interpretation of the sketch from MojoHolder plus I am using it for Category Stories (“Stuck In A Moment” with designer and fellow Fiskateer Stephanie Hamen), and for Estee Lynn's August Scrapbook.com 3×3 Challenge (3 B+W photos, 3 Word Title, and monochromatic embellies). Now off to get the girl's hair cut for schoool. And so she can look spiffy when she meets her teacher.

Happy Creating!
