You must love crafts too because you are here! I love crafts too!

March is National Craft Month – you know, because we need a month or day or week for everything. I'm waiting for National Taco Day.

Anyways, I usually like to over-promise all of these super amazing things for a special occasion, like “30 days of mini books” or some other thing that sounds like a great idea at the time. But my track record is bad, bad, bad – I don't finish those projects because they are way too ambitious. I set the bar too high. So instead, how about this:

Just make stuff.

I've been in the worst creative funk for MONTHS. MONTHS. I hope that I had you fooled but you've probably been feeling it too. I am overworked, overwhelmed, and burnt out. I have my moments of inspiration and today, is one of those. First you gotta identify you have a problem, right?

And, after talking to many of YOU on Facebook, email, the phone, and other social media, I know I am not alone. So this month is just about making stuff. Do something. Finish something. Try something new. Enjoy the process.

NO, I will not issue some challenge to make 30 projects or some other impossible task that just rips your soul apart because you have no more drops of inspiration to give. We are supposed to have fun. We are supposed to enjoy this process. We are supposed to find respite from the daily boring routine of the world in the act of making.

DO something creative. It might be every day this month. It might be ONE day. It might be 3 times and that is all you have to give and all you NEED.

I hope that you take this month as a reminder and permission slip to get creative and just enjoy the process. Tomorrow, I'll be sharing the first thing I made this month! What are you creating?
