Let It Snow!

Before I start on this super lengthy post, go check out Scrapbook Royalty's blog today!! Just vote for our new logo and then leave a comment (the directions are on the post for today) and you can win a prize!! I'll draw the name tonight at midnight.

So yes, I am still talking about Snow! I live in California, gimme a break! LOL This morning I got up and took more photos of the snow — can you believe it was still snowing at midnight when I went to bed?!?!

Katie was trying so hard to make a snowman! LOL
Our Patio had all kinds of icicles hanging from it:

More clouds stuck on the mountains:

This is like a good 6 feet under our patio:

Quail tracks!! I opened the front door and this fat little quail was trying to fly away and you can see where its little feet fell through the snow. This was literally like 2 feet from my front door.

The desert behind my house:

Our bushes totally covered–these are like 3 feet tall.

The city called everyone to let us all know to not travel, city hall is closed, and the plows (whicare only running on Main Street not ont he other 550 miles of road in our little city. Oh and the snow was 14″ deep yesterday in the center of town. I am guessing at least 18″ here. It looks like Yosemite to me!! Except I have no trees like Yosemite does! Last night before I got completely dark I got some more pics:

The wagon–totally buried!
The Fire Pit:

Icicles on my Neighbor's House (our patio butts up to the back of our house):

This is under the patio cover!!
Notice the snow comes up to the top of the little door on this playhouse? That door is like 2 feet tall!

The neighbors built snowmen:
The truck is buried!!

Check out this fun little snow card from Fiskars:

And finally here are my Christmas cards, I am finishing up:

I love the Anna Griffin Georgette Holiday Paper Line and bought it wherever I could find it. I only have the first 30 cards done and am part way done on the next 70. Whew! I still have some more to go but I am halfway there since most of the diecutting is done. I had fun doing these using Glimmer Mist, Stickles, and Heat Embossing–too much fun!! I love the satin ribbon I found too — totally not my first choice but it works with the cards. I tried to be a little more out of the box for me this time. I also did some handcutting too which turned out pretty well I think:

Katie started all the Christmas baking last night. The only thing I am heping with is if she has a question on the recipe or doesn't know what things mean, like “sift”. That was a fun one to explain!

She tried to make Gingerbread and I wasn't paying attention and she made a recipe for Gingerbread Cake! She had gotten out the recipe book herslef and when we determined that the Baking Powder had expired, she found the only “Gingerbread” recipe with out Baking Powder.

So today she made gingerbread and the dough is resting in the fridge and now she is making Pumpkin Bread. The warmth is nice. And since baking is her newfound joy, she is loving it. She just walked in with flour in her hair!!

Matt is not so helpful. He's a boy, cooped up inside. What can you expect?! I don't know what he is doing but I hear him making noise…

The Pass is open so Xaver and my parents should all be home tonight–that will be nice!! Happy Scrapping!!
