With Valentine's Day being on a Saturday, things are gonna get crazy out there! A great Valentines date idea to plan a “romantic date night in” to avoid the chaos of the restaurants. We have dinner plans with friends so I thought a great way to cap off the night would be to have a romantic dessert and champagne “date” at home after being out with friends. You don't have to wait until the last minute to prepare this lovely surprise for your special person on Valentine's Day. That's where ProFlowers.com comes in! I received these two lovely bouquets from ProFlowers.com that really set the scene for this romantic centerpiece and place setting for a date-night-in. Ordering from ProFlowers.com is fast and easy and the flowers arrive at the door fresh from the grower! No floral shop or grocery store (gasp!) shopping needed and you can even place the order from your smartphone. I created this pretty centerpiece for the ProFlowers Valentine’s Day Centerpiece Challenge:
When the flowers arrive, open the box as soon as possible. Remove the vase from the box. Cut about 1″ off the ends of all of the flower stems and remove any leaves that fall below the water line in the vase. Add a packet of flower food, which comes with the shipment, to the vase and then add the flowers. The flowers may take a few hours to perk up. I put mine in the vase around 8pm and the next day the flowers looked gorgeous and had started blooming. By day 3, the buds were all opened. The shipment included a postcard with instructions that I saved on my fridge for reference. On day 3, the postcard suggests changing out the water and adding a second packet of flower food, also included in the shipment, to the vase. As of this post, the flowers are on day 5 and they look gorgeous!
