2014-12 12 Days of Giving
12 Days of Giving – craft tutorials, and designer interviews during December 2014

All this month the team at  Smoothfoam is making balls, balls, balls!! Christmas balls, that is, on our Holiday Ball Hop!  Smoothfoam is perfect for making ball-shaped ornaments because the foam is fairly solid, with a smooth surface. You can pin things to it, glue, decoupage, paint… there are so many possibilities that just can be done with general floral foam balls. Today, I created a very simple, vintage inspired ball-shaped button ornament:

These come together lickety split and require only a few basic craft  supplies that you might already have on hand. If you don't have them, I've linked them to some affiliate links on Amazon so you can buy them easy peasy and get them in time for Christmas:

And here's how to make them:

You can make a BUNCH of these to hang on your tree or skip the ribbon hanger and fill a vase or bowl with the balls as a decoration. I think they'd look great in an apothecary jar!

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.
