Today I've created a great affordable layout made using the Crafter's Workshop templates, ink from Clearsnap, a few sheets of cardstock, some ribbon, and a sheet of paper cut into diecuts. This page is ready to go for my photos this year and I didn't have to use any “halloween” themed items to complete it.

I started with two sheets of Bazzill cardstock in Raven. I laid the Balzer Designs Crafter's Workshop Chevrons Template onto the page and pressed a Clearsnap Top Boss Watermark Inkpad over the template.

The ink was applied to the cardstock in the pattern of the template.

I then sprinkled the inked image with clear embossing powder and heat set it with a heat gun.

Next I laid Mini Love Beads template and Mini Circle Squares template onto the page corners and sprayed with Smcooh Spritz ink in Citrus Tickle and Ginger Ale.

Then I applied ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink in Popcorn with a Stylus and Foam Tip to the Mini Frag Flower Template for a soft, spooky effect.

I then sprayed the top of the page with Smooch Spritz in Citrus Tickle and let it drip down the page for a spooky effect.

I then used a paper towel to wipe the Smooch Spritz from the embossed areas — the embossing will resist the ink and make the pattern stand out.

I diecut some bats and a haunted house from some patterned paper and then I sprayed it with Smooch Spritz in Silver Foil to tone down the pattern in the paper and make them “spooky”.

Then I added some mats, ribbon, and a title to finish off the page!

Supplies:
  • Smooch Spritz by Clearsnap in Silver Foil, Citrus Tickle, and Ginger Ale
  • Top Boss Watermark Ink
  • Top Boss Embossing Powder
  • ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Pumpkin Spice and Popcorn
  • ColorBox Stylus and Tips Set
  • Templates – Balzer Designs for The Crafter's Workshop
  • Cardstock – Bazzill, Neenah
  • Ribbon, Lace – May Arts, unknown
  • Diecuts – Silhouette
  • Alphas – American Crafts
  • Paper – Cosmo Cricket, Prima, Bo Bunny Press, American Crafts, SEI
This hop is 3 days long, all weekend so join us again for more inspiration tomorrow! You can follow me on Facebook on the Hydrangea Hippo Page. Please go “like” my page and post here that you liked it to be entered to win one of my “Haunts & Whooligans” mini book class kits! For an extra entry, please visit my etsy shop and post the link to one item you like the most. I will choose one winner for the kit and one winner who will win the etsy item they liked the most and post your name here on my blog on October 11, 2011.
