I finally got around to changing my blog header and the banner for my etsy shop. A few months back I changed the title of my blog to “Hydrangea Hippo”. It all started as a joke and then it just kind of stuck.

Earlier this year I attended the “Fantasyland Crop for Kids” put on by Scrapbook Royalty. A few of us at the crop decided to head over to the Pink Pineapple in Vista, CA to do a little shopping. We got on the subject of scrapbooks stores.

“What would you name a store if you had one?”

Crazy Rachel had some name with “Periwinkle” in it. We joked about “Green Galoshes” and other funny color and noun combos.

Then there are the stores and companies that already exist…Pink Pineapple, of course, a scrapbook store here in California….Green Tangerine, a store in Northern California….Pink Paislee, a manufacturer … Scarlet Lime, a kit club…Label Tulip, another kit club…well, you get the picture.

So being facetious, I said I'd name my store “Hydrangea Hippo”. hehe. It had a ring to it I guess and what started out as a joke has now become my blog and etsy shop name. Who'd have thunk it? I don't even like hippos or purple!

I paper pieced the little hippo in my banner by making a couple of ovals and then two leaf shapes for the ears. The eyes are the smallest Kaiser Craft black rhinestones. The paper in the background is from Collage Press–love their papers! Here's the hippo hiding in my ribbon:

That's where she lives. So I *might* just take her with me places and take pictures of her doing different things. We'll see if I remember…

That's all for now…back to kitting…
