For Glen…

I recently started accepting custom scrapping jobs again and had three in the last month — the Nanette Banner, another banner for a lady's jewelry craft fair booth, and then one for Glen. This project for Glen was fun but complicated at the same time–he wanted to celebrate the first year of his relationship with the love of his life by having me create a shadowbox collage of all of the mementos he had collected over the past year –phone call records, hotel room keys, restaurant menus, tags from clothing, a piece of a belt, photos, pins, DVD covers of movies they had watched together–very sweet stuff however very challenging to use it all to create a cohesive “something wonderful”. He also had some special requests for quotes and dates that should be included. I finally got it all done late last night and today presented him with it. He loved it, thank goodness!! It is always hard to know what someone wants when they just give me free creative license, as Glen did.

Here are some snapshots of the finished product:

I left the pics blurry so that I could keep private the actual words on the detail. Plus, just in case his lady googles his name, I don't want too much popping up so she is still surprised by the gift. Thanks for looking!!!

It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old a girl is selling her wares at craft fairs as far as her parents and grandparents would drive her. These days, Jennifer enjoys crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. Her style is approachable and she wants everyone who sees her work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.
