My good friend Maria Getz is a Cancer Survivor. She recently shared her story with a group of us at a little get together she had at her house.
She is attending the Royal Slumber Crop in three days in San Marcos, CA. The crop is benefiting the Cancer Coping Center. Please read Maria's letter below:
Dear Friends:
As of August 06, I have been cancer free. It feels like a lifetime ago and it also feels like it was just yesterday.
I was blessed with wonderful support from my family and friends (some very special friends: Rose and Pamm). And most important I had my faith and the prayers from so many, even people I did not know.
I need your help. I am participating in a Scrapbook Royalty charity event to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Coping Center. Scrapbook Royalty is a 100% volunteer run non-profit organization that hosts events to raise money and awareness.
The Cancer Coping Center constitutes a group of professionals who volunteer their time and expertise in order to relieve the suffering of those afflicted with cancer. Their missions is to enhance and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, family members and care givers through creativity.
My goal is to raise $500 in donations. Not everyone is blessed with a support systen and it is important to keep places like the Cancer Coping Center available to those who need it.
Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Please make your check out to Scrapbook Royalty or donate via the Paypal button below (Jennifer is collecting donations online on my behalf).
I will send everyone that donates a special hand mdae card. And for those that can donate $25 I will make a special stationary gift set!!
Remember, every bit helps! Oh yea, the participant who raises the most money will be crowned Queen of Philanthropy and I need a new tiara!!!
Love,
Maria Getz
